CalCare Campaign:
Assembly Bill (AB) 1900, the California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act (also known as CalCare), would enact a comprehensive framework for a single-payer health care coverage system in California. The CalCare campaign is organized by the California Nurses Association, a premier organization of registered nurses and one of the nation’s fastest-growing labor and professional organizations in the U.S. with more than 100,000 members. As a union of frontline caregivers, CNA advocates not only for its members but for patients and communities, fighting for a health care system that puts care before profit. You do not need to be a nurse to be involved in the campaign.
Â
CalCare would establish a universal, single-payer health care system in California, guaranteeing comprehensive coverage for every resident, regardless of income or immigration status, with no premiums, copays, or deductibles. At a time when health care costs are rising faster than wages and millions risk losing coverage, CalCare offers a solution that streamlines the system, lowers overall costs, and would provide care to all, including dental, vision, mental health, and long-term care.
