Elisa Rivera, Candidate for California Democratic Party Regional Director District 10
“Heart in the Valley, Eyes on the Future!”
Elisa Rivera is a lifelong organizer, a proud daughter of the labor movement, and the only candidate endorsed by Dolores Huerta for Regional Director, District 10. Her family organized with the United Farm Workers Union, and she was raised in a home where activism wasn’t just a belief; it was a way of life. From Delano to Porterville, Visalia to Bakersfield, the Central Valley has always been home.
Elisa has led successful campaigns to elect people like Kerman’s first Indigenous Mayor and her own daughter, who won a city council seat at just 20 years old. She helped write and pass SB 714 to allow undocumented Californians to serve as delegates, and when her County Supervisors tried to bypass state law to protect the racist name “Squ*w Valley,” she helped coordinate a successful ballot measure to oppose and strike down that injustice.
As a single mother of five, Elisa understands struggle and resilience. During the pandemic, she brought PPE, food, books, and essentials to families across rural towns. She built free little libraries, made sure farmworkers were counted in the Census, and continues to lead house meetings in those communities.
Elisa has led Democratic clubs, served on the Central Committee, and mentored emerging organizers, enabling them to step into their own power and find their own voice.
Elisa isn’t part of a political machine, nor does she owe political favors. She’s accountable only to her family, her community, and her conscience. As Regional Director, she’ll fight for the resources the Valley deserves and ensure the party reflects the values of the people it serves. Elisa isn’t running a campaign; she is building a movement and invites you to join.
