Marget Willer, Tehachapi Salvation Army
Marget Willer does amazing things both in Tehachapi and the surrounding areas within Kern County.
Marget Willer is a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5 with 3 fur babies at home. She grew up in Lancaster and has been a long time resident of Tehachapi. She is member of the Tehachapi Mountain Democratic Club and supports the Democratic Party in many of its beliefs and values. She, herself helped grow and cultivate the Tehachapi Salvation Army Youth Center which has become a vital safe place for kids in our community. The Youth Center offers social services as well as an after school program.
Marget has been with the Salvation Army for 25 years and is the Director of Service Extension. As the Director, she oversees their Golden State Division which includes 30 Salvation Army Service Units, including Tehachapi. The Salvation Army has several programs to help struggling families in communities like Tehachapi. Their programs help with everything from getting winter coats, a summer camp program, and even a food bank program. They are well known for the Giving Tree Program which helps families at Christmas time put gifts for under the tree. They offer help with utility bills, emergency housing and can even help with emergency services such as the fires in Kernville most recently.
